Drones, also known as Workers or Warriors, are the most common caste in the heirarchy of the Xenomorph species. They act as the standard labourers and defensive/offensive units within a hive, building and expanding the hive, protecting Ovomorphs, capturing potential hosts for impregnation and eliminating anything that poses a threat.

Biology[]

As with most Xenomorph castes, the precise biology of Drones can vary depending on the species of the hosts they hatch from. Common traits include skeletal-looking torsos and limbs, clawed digits and long segmented tails ending in bladed tips for slicing and stabbing prey. The precise shape of a Drone's head tends to differ depending on host species, but Drones born from human hosts have been known to feature elongated heads with either bony ridges or a smooth carapace. Most Drones also sport four tube-like spines on their backs. Another commonality among all Drones is a cartilage-based tongue which possesses its own jaws and teeth. This tongue is able to extend from the Drone's mouth and is strong enough to bite through human bone.

The average size of a Xenomorph Drone is 7-8 feet in height and 14-16 feet in length, from head to tail tip. It is capable of both bipedal movement or on all fours, and its clawed digits allow it to easily cling to vertical surfaces. As ambush predators, Xenomorph Drones will frequently hunt by traversing walls and ceilings, lurking in dark areas out of sight from their prey and waiting for the ideal moment to strike. They will attack by swiping with their claws, stabbing or slashing with their bladed tails, or by pinning victims down and puncturing their skulls with their inner jaws.
