Wartortle is a first-generation Water-type Pokémon. It is the evolved form of Squirtle.

When Squirtle evolves, it develops long ears and sharpened claws and fangs. Its tail will also grow long and furry; it is said that Wartortle's age can be determined by the length of its tail and many people seek out Wartortle tails as charms, believing them to grant good fortune.
Wartortles are remarkable swimmers. In the wild, they stalk prey by hiding in the water and can remain submerged for hours. Their tails can capture air when out of the water and will use it to remain underwater for longer periods.
Special Abilities[]
Below is a list of some of the abilities commonly used by Wartortle.
- Withdraw - Wartortle withdraws into its shell to protect itself.
- Skull Bash - Wartortle tucks its head down into its shell and then launches forward to deliver a fierce projectile headbutt.
- Water Pulse - Wartortle launches a blast of water from its mouth, propelling it with ultrasonic waves. A hit from this attack can cause confusion in the target Pokémon.
- Aqua Tail - Wartortle whips the opponent with its tail, striking them with the force of a crashing surf.

Wartortle evolves into Blastoise at Level 36.
