Dark Tallon Metroids are a mutant Metroid variant from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. They are Tallon Metroids that have been possessed by the Ing. They look distinctly different from other Metroids, having no transparent epidermis but a thick, dark hide. They also have a clear optical organ. They attack by latching on to prey as with other juvenile Metroids. Their resilience to standard weaponry is increased, but they inherit the Ing's vulnerability to the Light Beam. They can also still be frozen with the Dark Beam and then shattered with missiles.
