Pikachu is highly regarded as the most popular of all Pokémon. Its yellow body and cute facial features are immediately recognisable and it is considered the mascot of the Pokémon franchise and a major representative of Nintendo's collective mascots.

Pikachu is known as the Electric Mouse Pokémon. It is a short, chubby rodent with yellow fur, long ears and a distinct lightning-bolt shaped tail. The red circles on its cheeks are electric pouches that store a great amount of electricity that can be released at will.
Pikachu are highly intelligent Pokémon and very sociable, though this doesn't mean that they will let themselves be caught by Trainers without some effort. In the wild, they gather in large groups and generate large quantities of electricity between them which sometimes triggers lightning storms.
Pikachu's diet consists mostly of fruit and nuts which it will roast with electrical discharges. In fact, the naturally wary Pikachu has a tendency to zap anything new or mysterious it encounters.
Abilities[]
- Thunder Shock - A basic electrical attack. Pikachu unleashes a bolt of electricity from its cheeks that frazzles its opponent.
- Agility - The nimble Pikachu dashes around at high speed, making it very difficult for an opponent to land an attack.
- Nuzzle - Pikachu nuzzles an opponent and paralyzes them with a powerful static discharge.
- Discharge - A burst of electricity that shocks anyone within its area of range. It causes high damage and can leave victims paralyzed.
Evolution[]
Though Pikachu was discovered first, being No. 025 in the National Pokédex, it has a pre-evolved form known as Pichu which was discovered in Johto years after Pikachu was first documented in Kanto. It also evolves through the use of a Thunder Stone, becoming Raichu.
